I love how the lens is so focused so as to depict the inner and outer beauty of the poppy. The image of the simple flower alludes to yin/yang in life. By this, I mean it paradoxically represents the West, where they can occasionally grow and are loved for their color, beauty and the emblem of remembrance day. It also mirrors that of the East where they are grown in mass amounts; unfortunately well known for their opium content. However, this link between the East/West is evoked by the commonality factor of the poppy, whether for good or bad reasons. It represents friendly connections, and war.
I love how this picture, in all its simplicity can allude to such power. That makes it very much intricate, should an individual bother to interpret and delve deep into this pretty picture. The color contrast is perfect; green for mother nature, illuminating to many religions, such as creation or the book of genesis, or pagan religions where nature governed an individuals well being and actions. The red color symbolism can represent lust, love, blood, war, power, luxury, wealth, royalty and anger or hatred. Perhaps it is the brighter side of goth, whereby its scornful color-ism can represent the melancholic and bitter loss in war. Mourning can again be reflected in the black center of this poppy. The flower is a mask for the darkness of mankind perhaps? The power of what the poppy can represent is also reiterated in the fact the poppy, being so small, is the focus of the picture. The larger background is ignored.
Overall, I loved how I could interpret so much, from such a small picture. Well done, you are really artistic and this is conveyed through your photography Thanks very much for uploading this
